In addition to the artistic aspect of his artworks, Servant-Ermes paves the way for important economic, environmental and societal changes. This eclectic, extraordinary, innovative and original artist has had an  unusual and chaotic career straddling art and science.
From carbon to quanta, he is able to imagine and draw bricks from the past to build the future.
He is the originator of carbon art in 1985 and he is the first to create composite sculptures made with sand from around the world. He also initiated the quantum art trend in 2003.
With this book, the author unveils his artistic and scientific path: After writing an illustrated biography of his artistic, technological and scientific works (with carbon, sand, quanta), he delivers his views on the Origin of the Universe.
It becomes an opportunity for him to clarify the principles of the first antagonistic particle as regards physics and to suggest there exists an information memory particle as regards the world of the living.
Following a serious accident, the artist immersed himself in work on the topic of the timeless, invisible world of the infinitely small called ‘quantum', in which he unveiled an opportunity to develop his imagination and intellectual perception.
He is determined to bravely defy conventional scientific ideas and offer more original ideas through his art to build on existing knowledge:
For the artist, movement and memory are deemed necessary to the good operation and coordination of life itself, as it is for computerised devices.
Servant Ermes also explores the original and technological concept of a clean electrical energy likely to substantially transform everyday life: there would be no more need for smartphone, tablet or car batteries...

Imagine, draw the bricks of the past to build the future

This journey explains my career, built between an artistic path and a scientific aim interlinked with social, environmental and economic concerns.
 The disordered path of my life comes at a crossroads with my personal and professional lives, its happy and not so happy encounters. One close encounter with near death experience left a lasting mark on me. Each creation has a story, and with this autobiography, I try to enliven those creations with photos of carbon and bronze sculpture pieces, sand from all over the world, and materials ranging from the last world war until the outcome of this new quantum art wave.
My life story reveals how I came to suggest a new theory of the origin of the universe which gives a better explanation on matter and life, in which quantum art would answer to without any big bang. Though I cannot validate my theory, no one else is likely to refute it. This booklet aims to prove in a logical process that life cannot subsist without movement or memory.
 This booklet aims to be an aid to international communication for those passionate about arts and for a mainstream audience but it also helps in my research which is necessary to develop a positive evolution of the human being.
Book synthesis
This synopsis seems necessary for the readers to comprehend the path that led me to quantique art: (quantum art)
I took an interest in art at a very young age, however a serious accident impeded my memory, and oddly, I have focused my whole life on some ‘original memory’ research countdown; the origin of the beginning of life. Since my accident, I cannot memorise words, thus I cannot learn any longer. Still, I am able to study and analyse while my remaining neurons work on different levels and are permanently active, outside chronological standards.
 Though I have endured this disabling amnesia daily as a threat to my identity, my positive outlook on my research work has been very productive: when I embark upon a new track, ideas spring naturally, words flow and speak for themselves to describe or develop a situation.
Living with unpredictable temporal landmarks which left their marks on my artistic creation, my behaviour and my body- has had a variety of issues but it also brought its share of advantages.
I first approached this artistic research with drawing and carbon sculpture1. I then emphasized my theory on the origin of the universe2 on a scientific level and also on ‘genetic quantum’3 bound to complete Darwinian theory.
Quantum artwork is a pictorial mapping about world creation and it highlights a great similarity between the Universe being created 13-15 billion years ago and our neurological system today.
This logic demonstrates indeed how the ‘infinitely small’ is the common thread in which all is mirrored.
According to Einstein, imagination is more important than knowledge. What about imagination? How to put things in perspective between a rational idea and a utopia, or even some bizarre rambling?
An idea can be deemed rational if it brings more answers than questions, and if its reasoning revolves around a spherical system4 and not a flat one.
Through my writings, I attempt to open up a window onto relations between a world of imagination, creativity and art with a mysterious universe called quantum in which neurons would interface the environment.
There are no talks about equation or mass energy apart from the formula on creation, which is the main difference between scientific thought on quantum physics and my quantic research.
On one hand, I am not a professor or a physics specialist and, on the other hand, I am more interested in a global vision of things with a different perspective.
Thus, I use simple terms for anyone to understand, such as movement, construction, memory, information and intelligence.
I do not copy science but I almost dare say I am ahead of it thanks to the imaginative spirit my art pieces have been reflecting for the last thirty years.
Based on my own ‘quantum theory’ (or small packs) on quantum physics, quantum art is the result of these elementary parts whose assembling enables construction. Only one is able to memorise, inform and teach any living matter. My theory sees this role as the most prevalent.
Indeed, quantum art depicts nature’s interactional intelligence on a minute scale regrouping physics and human sciences together.
Thanks to this inventive approach, quantum art is original and owns a particular value; dear in an oversaturated contemporary art context.
An art piece has value for what its ideas trigger and not in what it is as such.
There lies a difference between the idea of inventiveness and creativity. The first means creation from nothing to something new while the second means how to re-use something already existing.
It can be compared to a new building with an old one being refurbished.
I may qualify my ideas as ‘inventive’ because my accident and my near death experience may have given me an out of time dimension. Thus, my idea is ‘inventive’ because it suggests the beginning of the quantum world and it offers a rational path for the whole sequence, as if we were holding a ball of string unwinding naturally.
Albert Einstein said: ‘A better understanding of things starts at the beginning’.
So, I have approached the start of a great voyage in the infinitely minute and this is expressed in this new quantum art wave. I tell how the first particle was required for the creation of matter in the Universe, the basis of our origins and the importance of neurological bonds with the quantum world, but I also explain how art5 springs from the beginning of time.
My quantum art signature brings about societal ideas about knowledge on matter and the living, but also about major environmental and economic challenge: Half artistic, half scientific, this research paves the way for the futuristic concept of a ‘quantum electrical generator’ which would enable an everlasting new electrical energy. This research should come as a priority on an international level since it could indeed fundamentally and crucially revolutionise the future of mankind.
No more phone batteries to charge, no more combustion engines, most importantly no more dangers and concerns over the recycling of nuclear plants and no more satellite’s electrical failures.
The idea of an ‘electron pump’ might leave you wonder…  Thalès6 or Einstein might have thought about it before, who knows?
Everything man has ever imagined will become a reality one day, it is a question of time, and if the electric pump remains a hypothesis to this day, its conception already holds the seeds for its future conception.
I am aware the funding and implementation of such a research on an international scale may take quite a long time. A necessary waiting period will alleviate negative results of such a sharp economic revolution. But let there be no illusions, there will be numerous obstacles to overcome, a significant one being lobbies’ financial interests.
I myself believe my art provides a perception of this quantum world through a different set of optics.
Great specialists know of my theory (which is nothing new since its depiction in the quantum art work ) and they will determine its feasibility and possible development.
Future generations would urgently need to work on this technological evolution, for our planet is in great danger: Mother Earth is meant to be humanity’s womb and not its landfill.
She is already showing signs of ache and we need to respect her for the sake of the future ‘s world survival.
Respect alone is not enough for a positive evolution though.
Human behaviour and thoughtlessness of many people is harmful to the environment. All that is left unsaid, politically correct, superficial and intolerance as a whole are often too easy to adopt.
I often met a certain amount of resistance, indifference and even mockery because of my new unsettling ideas.
I know, from professional experience, that difference creates fear.
The art work and the observer
Quantum art is similar to a tiny coloured pack-filled abstract painting for the observer.
It is no good assuming however, that it is only a 'Pollock' whose only value would be monetary.
It would mean denying the creativity of 'quantum art' and view it as plagiarism
It is not 'easy' either as one might think just by judging the result. Actually, quantum art comes after sixty years of artistic labour and thirty years of research.
Quantum artwork is more imaginative that one might first believe; it is suggestive and it imitates invisible nature, leaving some mystery to the observer. Intelligence is only depicted as nature with life bricks.
The use of five colours, quantum art shows five elementary particles giving life to nature: all particles are interacting, two of them being still ignored by research.
Two main ideas appear on my canvases: an antagonistic particle depicting movement and symbolised in black colour, and a memory particle interacting with the living, standing for information and symbolised by the colour white.
Nowadays, communication and public interest only blend in a visual emotion and exhibitions remain an event or a performance at the expense of reflexion.
I always offer a presentation when I have an exhibition before I sell a piece. My main priority is to create and transmit my pieces to art collectors so as to optimise my creativity and my scientific inventiveness while financing my particles’ sciences and medicine based works and researches.
Though I do not ignore creativity plays a crucial part in Art, I also strongly believe there are more important lessons to be learned from the quantum world.
Pictorial signature on display
Quantum art comes as a whole: More than its speculative and market value, an exhibited piece can become useful and be showcased by its its purchaser.
While usefully adding decorative value to a hall or reception area, either ancient or contemporary, the art piece would distill as a background music, whose five colours would compare to a five-wave light. Unaware, it would create an atmosphere of warmth, vibrancy and fanciful daydreaming.
A work of art is honoured by its guests, visitors and it instigates a rich dialogue about the world, the origin of the Universe and Mankind.
It both paves the way for reflection about the importance of respecting the environment and the urgency to set up a clean energy such as the 'quantum battery'. When future generations take a 'quantum work of art' snapshot on their cutting edge smartphones, they will have never imagined these previous devices needed to be recharged every couple of hours!
Pictorial 'quantiste art' signature can be divided into five unblended basic colours laid out in small spidery bundles (red, blue, yellow, white, black) and focused on three themes:
-origin of the Universe comes through 'the particles' dance': the artwork is presented in various forms and offers four background colours.
-world creation is expressed in the 'particles' union' in different forms but solely on a yellow background.
-intelligence of the living appears in the 'quantum portrayal' in different forms on a yellow background dotted with white.
However, I sometimes happen to mix blue with red to obtain purple so as to rest the eyes while respecting the principles of the five basic colours.
